Extra day for Leap Year, Join us on a MOE at Minsi Lake

Updated: Feb 14, 2020

It's Leap Day! You get an extra day this year. You've been saving up for this day for 4 years now, so why not enjoy nature in a different way, through a Mindful Outdoor Experience. Being in and engaging with Nature has been shown to help reduce stress, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, and boost the immune system. Join us on a fun and relaxing experience at Minsi Lake where you will be guided through an exploration of the forest, trails, creeks, and (hopefully) even the lake bed itself. While walking and sitting, you will be invited to use all of your senses to connect with nature, each other, and yourself. No fee. The event is generously provided by Northampton County Parks. https://www.northamptoncounty.org/PUBWRKS/PARKREC/Pages/Minsi-Lake.aspx Meet at the west parking area. The parking area doesn't have an address but this is the address of the property right next door: 49 Blue Mountain Drive, Bangor PA 18013 This is a rain or shine event. Open to anyone 13 years of age or older. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs please. Dress for the weather. We will be walking on mostly flat surfaces and sitting. There will be some paved/dirt trails. We will also be free walking on the lake bed itself (weather dependent). So wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty and muddy. Muck type boots if you have them. Bring something to sit on, like a small blanket or rubber mat, or even a small camping chair. Whatever you bring you will have to carry. We will be walking approximately 2 miles round trip, and at a slow pace.
