Monocacy Creek Clean-Up & Mindful Outdoor Experience (address in details)

SATURDAY, APRIL 30, 2022 AT 9 AM – 2 PM

Creek Clean Up, 9am - 11:30am Lunch Break, 11:30 - noon Mindful Outdoor Experience, noon - 2pm Please bring water and a small bagged lunch. From 11:30 to noon we will have an outdoor lunchbreak together. There is a Wawa and grocery store just up the street if you want to grab something on the way. *****************************

Meet/Park at: 1461 Schoenersville Rd Bethlehem, PA 18018 This is the large paved parking lot for the Burnside Plantation Look for my WHITE PICKUP TRUCK ****************************** CREEK CLEAN UP (9 to 11:30 am) DETAILS:

We will be cleaning up the area along the Monocacy Creek and the trails. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. This is a Rain or shine event. ChuckWalks is having a FUNDRAISER for the Monocacy Creek Watershed Association (MCWA). 50% OF THE FUNDS RAISED from items sold through April 9th will be DONATED TO the non-profit. https://chuckwalksgear.myspreadshop.com/ https://watershedcoalitionlv.org/monocacy-creek-watershed-association/ Please be prepared with solid hiking boots or hiking shoes. No flip flops or open toed shoes please. There may still be a chill in the air so please dress appropriately and in layers for this all outdoor adventure. We will be walking mostly on the designated trails This route is listed as easy. The trails are flat but could be muddy.

MINDFUL OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE (Noon to 2pm) DETAILS: You are invited on a 1.5 mile walk along the Monocacy Creek trail north of the Plantation where we will be exploring the nooks and crannies along the forest and creek The spring wildflowers and the more-than-human world will be there to spend time with us.

Are you willing to explore your senses and trust Nature to be your guide? Much of our walk will be at a slow pace and we will be pausing along the route to connect with Nature and practice proven ways to settle in, get centered & grounded, and help alleviate some of our stresses and anxieties by learning to become more present. More Mindful. This adventure may also include: Waking up and warming up our bodies. Exploring the intimate nooks and crannies of some of the less traveled areas. Spending some time with a special tree. Maybe finding an off trail hiding place to settle in and take in the views while we practice a seated meditation (sit spot) Really connecting with our senses and spend time with Nature. Ending with "council practice" where we will reconnect and share our Experiences with each other. Bring a small towel or pad for sitting for our sit spot meditation (20 minutes). You may also choose to stand. Bring water and a small bagged lunch. From 11:30 to noon we will have an outdoor lunchbreak together. There is a Wawa and grocery store just up the street if you want to grab something on the way. There is no guarantee the restrooms will be open, so please plan accordingly. This is a free event, however donations ($, Venmo, PayPal or Zelle) are appreciated and should be based on how valuable you find your experience to be as you invest in your personal wellness journey.
